Sustainability is not a one-man job. With community we score just how well restaurants integrate their values into their training and communication. This involves making sure staff and customer needs and feedback are addressed, as well as guaranteeing that the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and transparency are met.
After filling out our sustainability checklist we give restaurants a score (one to five green Humbees) based on how they performed in each of our five key sustainability themes (food, waste, energy and water, operations and design, and community).
Please note that a restaurant scoring even just two green Humbees means that it is way ahead of the average restaurant in terms of sustainability.
,p>Unlike, a standard consumer star rating with less stars reflecting a subpar experience or quality, this is not a rating of bad to good. Rather, green Humbees reflect how far along its sustainability journey a restaurant is, and how much more opportunity they have to become even more sustainable than they already are.
